I try always to pay. If the Omny machine on the bus is out of order (not infrequent) or the subway train is already in the station and the "exit" door is being held open, then I sink into depravity.

I ride the M14 a lot, and I’ve never, ever seen the Omni machine out of order.

I drove for the first time since my most recent hip surgery (January 2024). I probably could've gotten behind the wheel earlier, but eh, if someone else wants to drive, I'm not gonna fight about it.

My stick shift days are probably over, though, alas.

I groused about the driver configuration in my stick shift element until son went out and bought me a city friendly automatic mini.  It’s cool!   Parks in my driveway with several feet left over.   Stupid easy to drive although I periodically jam down my left foot on the nonexistent clutch.   To be honest, it’s a perfect city car.   And yes, I reimbursed him.

When we first got the car, during the pandemic, I hadn't driven in so long (and I was much more used to a stick) that I occasionally used my left foot for the brake because my left foot was so bored. I do not recommend this.

It is a rough week, but doing my best to stay positive. Saturday would have been my husband's birthday. A year ago, it was the last day he was able to be in a sitting position and immediately after lost consciousness and died 6 days later. Thank you all for listening to me cry and whine. I'm doing fine now, but looking forward to finally getting moved (had some delays with work on the house). Don & the cats are already at the new place and they've made no complaints about it yet.

My sister and BIL took me (and our other sister) out for dinner Saturday night and it helped to be out and doing something. Going to try to keep my focus this week and stay busy until after the 29th.

19 out of 25. It should have been 20 because I knew the right answer but accidentally clicked the wrong line. There were several I had no idea but guessed correctly.

I guessed hot duck. I couldn't guess how many languages are spoken in Jackson Heights. Or indeed anything about the Knicks.

Only one I feel bad about is not knowing Hell's Hundred Acres.

Out of curiosity-what was the Knicks question?

The Knicks made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2025. Before that, when was the last time they advanced that far?

I ran through it with my daughter and she did good, but she was never going to know what Cafe Wha? was. Or anything about the Knicks.

She was able to tell me the name of the Liberty's mascot, sadly not a question.
