  1. I would love to hear how their meal at Tilth is, I think most of us here have had pretty bad or lack luster experiences there also and are interested to see if things are changing
  2. it was very scary! took some out of town guests to Bastille on a Sunday for brunch- I had the duck confit hash which was awesome. Dayne had the croque which he loved. the others all had the american breakfast which they liked, the sausage was an especially big hit
  3. Seattle Burger Company opens in Ballard tomorrow- 56th and 20th I think

  6. comfort food spaghetti with homemade red sauce and giant meatballs, Caesar salad, garlic bread, big chianti in the glass
  7. Sorrentino on Queen Anne is now Enzo, as I was driving by today I saw ms mama Enzo herself outside in her trademark black suite with black fur coat. Sicilia!
  8. I still can't figure out how they stayed in business all this time but seems Carsberg is folding but redealing as a cicetti bar (is this the new trend?) Ciao Lampreia
  9. Love Incanto so will check out the others you mentioned. And thanks for the head's up everyone- yikes!
  10. Thanks Carrie, I didn't really love SPQR when I went. Food was fine but I found them quite snotty and the table was horrible- crammed together really tight. I know they have the same owners (right?) and my friends were looking for a casual Italian place. The menu and pricing seemed quite good for that. Casual as in "not run over by snotty/snobby foodies"? Or what are you looking for now? I might have a place for you. Well they aren't snotty but they are into food and since they are from Europe they like to throw out some names that are in the media if you know what I mean

  14. Mexican tonight here too! Dayne is making us migas for our vegetarian meal of the week
  15. last night I made the fried chicken out of "Tender at the Bone", the flavor was amazing but the batter wasn't as crispy as I like it. Served with kale and ricotta salata salad and some sauteed corn that I had frozen over the summer
  16. Daniel the potato picture is awesome!! omg- this was some serious bone sucking, plating licking food. and the potato pave was so pretty to look at! I cleaned my plate!! last night I grilled wild king salmon marinated with parsley, lemon, shallot and evoo. roasted cauliflower and made a salad with butter lettuce, apple, celery and blue cheese dressing- idea from Ad Hoc
  17. but what was your table scape?
  18. so I've booked Boulevard for my friend's bday dinner. And I've got Swan's down for our oyster fix. Since we will absolutely go to the ferry plaza I'm thinking Slanted Door for lunch? I know it's not the best but neither of them get Vietnamese food (in Paris & Geneva) and they will love the view. Also the bar has good cocktails. what do you think? is it horrible or just over hyped? it's been years since I've been there.
  19. herb crusted rock fish, couscous, leeks with gribach (sp) sauce
  20. Well, somewhere in my mind I have an idea of liking it, but now I'm not sure. Also, for some reason it seemed like the thing to do with the pineapple that jumped in my cart at Costco.... This is my go to recipe, always a crowd pleaser and the cardamom is delish in it. Here are the notes I have on the recipe: this is delicious and easy! use 2 tsp cardomon. be sure not to cook the topping to long or it can start to burn. Funny, that's the one I thought I should go with before I was swayed by Ad Hoc. I'll give it a try one of these days, although I think it will be awh
