    I'm behind in my write-ups, so it'll take me a little while to get to this new French place (on Sullivan St. between Bleecker and Houston), which I adored. I'm posting because, if Orik is still in New York, I want to hear what he thinks of it.

    Since the gas is on, lets get the discussion fired up. Imo, this is the most exciting opening in NY in awhile. I was at the F&F dinner which showed lots of promise, but basque food is deserving of and benefits from fire, which is now possible. Wine list is going to be stellar. Much of the opening team from Frenchette is there. Chef is Ryan Barlow (a dear friend), as I'm sure you already know. He's a very talented guy and he lived in San Sebastian, which is the inspiration for the restaurant.

  4. Les Trois Chevaux is Angie Mar's follow-up to The Beatrice Inn, located in the surprisingly small space on the corner of West 12th & West 4th, next door to where The Beatrice was. As is well known, it's her stab at classic French -- although a few Japanese inflections creep in (especially on the cocktail list) (which I guess is pretty classic French these days).
