bloviatrix
Lehrhaus is an interesting place. It's a restaurant but also a place of [Jewish] learning. They host book events and all sorts of classes. For example, they're going to be hosting a 3-part series on Jews and Mah Jongg. The restaurant has been on my radar since before it opened because it has a fairly ambitious cocktail program so when we decided to make a stop into Boston to attend a game at Fenway I made it clear that we needed to have dinner there. I started dinner with a cocktail - Colonia Roma. Mezcal, ancho, tamarind and apricot. Not too sweet. A little smokey, and little heat. Beet "Pastrami" Reuben. This is a dairy restaurant so they smoke the beets with pastrami spices. Mac & Cheese Kugel, succotash salad. A little more souffle-like, although just as savory as regular mac & cheese. Fish & Chips, with schug aoili Chocolate cinnamon Egg cream.
