Wilfrid Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 Sad to see him go but now happily playing stuff I had forgotten. “Mas Que Nada” is kind of universal. Quote
hollywood Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 (edited) I saw him and his band, Brazil 66, when I was in college. it was him, a few musicians and two very attractive females who moved up and down the aisles singing with excellent mics on very long cords. It was a good show though he did not call attention to himself. They had a bossa nova sound which they also applied to tunes like "The Look of Love." In the US Brazil 66 was promoted by Herb Alpert. One of the original singers was Lani Hall who later married Alpert. Edited September 7, 2024 by hollywood Quote
Wilfrid Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 I’ve been listening to their live albums and yes, many well-known pop songs getting bossa nova’ed. Quote
