Burger Of The Month Club

Recommended Posts

I had lunch at Blue Moon yesterday with Rocky and his brother. (Rocky, you must really like this place - you've been three times!).

I had a single bacon burger with cheese. I really liked the burger - like Della said, it was wet enough for me and had a distinctive smoky flavor that I loved. Plus there was enough cheese and it didn't slide off the burger in one mass - always a good thing. We also had an order on onion rings and fries to share. I have to say I didn't care for either. The fries were thick cut, real potatoes, which is good. But too limp for my preference. Rocky said the onion rings were not enormous like last time. They were so perfectly shapped that, for a second, I thought they we fake. Thak goodness they aren't. But I still didn't love them. They weren't cooked enough for the onion to be truly soft and the batter was kind of blah. I got a chocolate, peanut butter shake to take back to the office and it was pretty good. One of the best things Blue Moon has going for it is the staff. They are super friendly and seem to be having a good time. You give your name when you order and, when I went back after lunch to order my shake, they remembered my name. Shocking considering I'd never been there before and there was a steady stream of people while we were there. It's not in a neighborhood I go to often, but I'll definitely go back next time I am.

Beatcha, Anita!   Let'd Do This!   Jason

Apparently on the other board, this topic has "run its course..."   Uh, yeah....

Gotta agree with Cam...It WAS expensive. Anita got the Stadium burger. Yup. 'twas big.   Yup. Did the Wagyu upgrade.   Yup. Was about as expensive as the Burger at the Palace Kitchen .   Yee

I had a great burger at Jitterbug. The patty was hand-formed and they cooked it medium rare, like I ordered it. The bun was good too.

I also recommend the burger at Norm's eatery. When you ask for medium rare, you get medium rare. The mushrooms are thin slices of portabello.

I'm not a burger connoisseur, but wanted to mention that when we had lunch at Geraldine's Counter yesterday, Matthew really liked his burger (cooked medium, as ordered). They're now open for dinner (as well as lunch and breakfast). The regular fries were pretty good, and next time we'll try the sweet potato fries.

And December's selection is......drumroll please.........

Market Street Grill in Ballard

They offer a kobe beef burger which is 10 ounces and ground in-house. They are only open for dinner, so I hope that won't be too prohibitive for anyone. If anyone is open next Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday we can go as a group. Say at 6:30?
