Beatcha, Anita!   Let'd Do This!   Jason

Apparently on the other board, this topic has "run its course..."   Uh, yeah....

Gotta agree with Cam...It WAS expensive. Anita got the Stadium burger. Yup. 'twas big.   Yup. Did the Wagyu upgrade.   Yup. Was about as expensive as the Burger at the Palace Kitchen .   Yee

The golden beetle burger was indeed delicious, particularly beefy, and I loved the spicing. I enjoyed the fries, but I was hoping for more out of them somehow. The build up of being fried in beef fat had me all excited, and they were good, but not outstanding...

We have a reservation for 7 PM on Monday, May 7th. They are going to put is in the back room and they have no problem with out group size. She also told me that Monday's are flight nights so we can try flights of tequila, scotch, etc. That will be fun!

See you then!

I'm going to call The Burgundian to confirm our 7 PM reservation for this evening. Are there any changes I need to make?

In a move that is a surprise to absolutely no one, I will be coming sans Alex this evening.

Let me start by saying that I had a lovely evenging with y'all at The Burgundian, and enjoyed my meal overall. The chicken & waffles made me happy, the fries & poutine were both good, and I really enjoyed my whiskey tasting flight! However, I was not wowed by the burger itself. Perhaps because it was overcooked, perhaps because of overly forward condiments, I was not tasting much beefiness. Also the meat was a little too soft, like a kobe burger... I'd go back happily, but I would probably skip the burger for one of the other options on the menu.

I liked my burger a lot. However, having been there before, Jan and I ordered it without the mushrooms and the onions so there was nothing to distract it. It was definitely not cooked medium rare, as ordered. It even blew past medium or medium well and went right to well done, yet for some reason it was still juicy and flavorful. I like the brioche bun and I love the fries. And the fact they use roma tomatoes, which adds some flavor. I usually don't like poutine, but I really liked theirs. Basically, I'm just thrilled to have them withing walking distance - so maybe that skews how much I liked my burger!
