Steve R.
Well, since we’re at the end of our month here, I figured that a couple of good photos to memorialize our above back and forth are in order. So, lunch today outdoors at Les Funambules (sunny weather!), with our favorite boucherie/pate (where the hell is the accent mark on my iPad keyboard again?) place across the street. We’ll miss this. And thanks for the heads up - we might even hit Happy Hour there before we leave.
Behemoth_Munich
Short fall break trip with a 1st time in Paris kid who really wanted to do all the classics. Highlights were Arnaud Nicolas (because Eiffel Tower), Les Enfants Rouge (French/Japanese fusion) and Recoin (evening hipster wine and small plates.) Also Grande Brasserie which was better than I would have expected. Hipster ramen with too long a wait near the Louvre, and some random Bao place in Marais because we couldn’t get in at Pluto on short notice. Even though it was late October, almost impossible to get in anywhere without a reservation. I don’t typically like to plan my schedule too much, but was glad I had good evening choices locked down. Clothes shopping infinitely better than in Germany, unfortunately.

She wanted to buy a beret and a striped shirt and carry a baguette under her arm. Managed to dissuade her. 😅
Behemoth_Munich
Oh, she liked Breizh Cafe as well. We did that the first night as we got in late and I wanted something not too challenging. But she loved all the food, despite being generally picky. And the French rivaled the Italians on kid friendliness. Wasn’t excepting that at all. Mitchell101
We were only in Paris for 2 nights and wanted to eat more modestly after two nights at Troigros. Highlight was at O.S.E. in the 18th. Run by two chefs with 3 star training, they are putting out very good food via a limited menu (2 starters, two mains, one dessert + cheese) for 45 Euros pp. Menu changes constantly. Very good in a small but comfortable space with really nice wine list too. Just a caution, my wife has a huge crush on one of the chefs so beware! (She has a conflicting crush on Cesar Troisgros....) PS Stopped in to funky and fun cocktail bar, Lost Generation before O.S.E. Only a 3 minute walk and worth it. bartender has some serious skills.
