Wilfrid Posted April 6, 2025 Author Posted April 6, 2025 Cold enough that I had been sipping Makers neat. Quote

Wilfrid Posted April 6, 2025 Author Posted April 6, 2025 She is my Lil' Ana. Also met CC for the first time. 1 Quote
Wilfrid Posted April 7, 2025 Author Posted April 7, 2025 They have Mesa, San Diego, then a break, then Japan. I told Ana I wasn't coming to Japan. "That's very disappointing," she said. Then a bunch of European dates in the summer. Nothing in New York she says, but a new album is on the cards. Quote
hollywood Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 Were the cowboy hats a nod to Cowboy Carter? Quote
Wilfrid Posted April 7, 2025 Author Posted April 7, 2025 I think it's just a tribute to Texas. I didn't realize how often they'd played SXSW. Quote
hollywood Posted April 13, 2025 Posted April 13, 2025 (edited) I do agree that Hinds is the best female rock band around (though I have a soft spot for Wet Leg), but isn't it obvious that Fontaines DC is the very best band overall? And Grian Chatten is a close friend of Hinds. Edited April 13, 2025 by hollywood Quote
hollywood Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 (edited) Clearly you are blinded by love. Superposition allows for various outcomes, but Fontaines DC wins. Edited April 14, 2025 by hollywood Quote

Wilfrid Posted April 15, 2025 Author Posted April 15, 2025 @hollywood I regret and withdraw my earlier comment. I am so happy that you like Hinds. Not only have others on Mouthfuls been prompted to see them, but friends and indeed my daughter, and while not necessarily becoming obsessed nobody has said, why are you bothering they're crap. I should check out Fontaines DC, but essentially you are right. I was so lucky to get on this journey with this amazing live band (and with Ana) and joyous to see where it goes. 1 Quote
hollywood Posted April 15, 2025 Posted April 15, 2025 Looks like Fontaines DC's US tour is sold out including May 16-18 at Hammerstein Ballroom. Maybe they can add another night? Quote
hollywood Posted April 15, 2025 Posted April 15, 2025 Just to keep you up to date, Fontaines' single "It's Amazing to be Young" will be released on a limited edition "neon yellow" vinyl on April 25, 2025, with a second unreleased track, "Before You I Just Forget", written by guitarist Conor Curley. Mitchell101 Posted April 15, 2025 Posted April 15, 2025 They are playing a night show with Jadu Heart during Jazzfest. I’ve listened and watched, just not my thing. Quote
Wilfrid Posted April 16, 2025 Author Posted April 16, 2025 Looks like Paula flew out to Japan early. She's the only one posting pics from there and the first concert is 4/22. Dates coming together for Europe later in the year. Quote
hollywood Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 At times it seems you are managing this band. Quote
Wilfrid Posted April 16, 2025 Author Posted April 16, 2025 I wish. I don't know what their management arrangements are. I don't see a manager on the road with them. Maybe Ana and CC manage themselves although they must have a booking agent. I should inquire. 1 Quote
Wilfrid Posted April 16, 2025 Author Posted April 16, 2025 They have a show coming up in Sabadell which is not far from Barcelona, but it's a festival with a stack of bands and it's in May. Barcelona in July or August would work. They are also playing my old college town in August. No US dates. Quote
