  1. I can't decide which decision was worse: the red card and suspension (ridiculous, based on my seriously uninformed knowledge of soccer) or the lifting of the suspension after a magic "opinion". Actually, I can decide. It was the FIFA "Peace Prize". No chance that Belgium will pull out of the game, supported by similar walk offs by other countries, right?
  2. I was sort of partial to Robinson as backup center for the Knicks, but Drummond is a good get.
  3. We sat (& stood) on the Bklyn Hts. Promenade for a couple of hours this morning, watching the Tall Ships and various flying machines. There was shade and a breeze. Tonight we have tickets to the Promenade for the fireworks, although I'm betting on getting soaked while there. As its only 2 blocks from home, we'll chance it. As an aside, "cheese on a hot dog"??! Really Wilf?
  4. Confusing as to why its being played at the same time as the World Cup.
  5. Yes they are. Either West team would be tough, although very different. Not sure which is a better match up. Hope they take each other to 7.
  6. Yes, but not a particularly good list of these either. Not exactly true for me, although I definitely see that point. The list did prompt me to add some places that I didn't prioritize previously. And I'm glad that someone else thinks highly of Aquavit.
  7. These lists are always strange, but this one outdoes the others. There are many places that I've had on my own list to try & now have some more incentive (I guess). There are others that I've gone to (some repeatedly) and agree with. There are those that I've been to and wonder if I was at the same place. And there are those that are strangely missing. But, strangest of all are the places that I've been to, liked well enough, but cannot fathom how they could be considered "top 100". What a mess.
  8. Any evidence that Keen's food has suffered from the ownership change?
  9. I lived in St. Louis in '75 when they had an ABA team that included Moses Malone. Never had trouble getting a good ticket at a reasonable price.
  10. Newsflash: they don't have a home team to talk about & the town is full of New Yawkers.
  11. We've been to Le Gratin and are actually going back in a couple of weeks. One of only a few "Lyon-ish" places in NYC. As nice as the space is, try going to the rest room. You'll need to go thru the adjacent main hotel restaurant ("Temple Court", a Tom Colicchio place), in a much larger, more opulent space.
  12. Ginny & I will miss her.

    Dave Mason

Can't remember the name of the album or other details, but I know that I bought his 1st (?) album because it had a multi-colored psychedelic label and we liked to watch it revolve.

    Paris

Take a look at this substack. He's a friend with whom we've frequently dined in Paris. I've linked to his most recent post of a place in the 8th but there are more recent restaurant posts that may be of interest to her as well: https://thefinewinereview.substack.com/p/helen-paris-8
