Wilfrid
That was my thought when I scanned the news. But the chef's name did sound familiar: Christophe Bellanca. He's been around a long time, nearly 9 years at U.S. Ateliers Joel Robuchon and 3 years at Le Cirque. I came across him at some point, I'm sure. Sneakeater
It's in the space that used to be that guy from Philadelphia and before that that guy who was young at the time he opened the restaurant. You know the ones I mean.

Sneakeater
No no the guy from Vetri who isn't Vetri (Adam something?) and the other chef wasn't THAT young but in his early/mid 20s but I happened to be sitting at the bar with his publicist the night his three-star NYT review got posted and the publicist wondered if he was the youngest chef ever to get three stars but it turned out that JGV was younger when Lafayette first got them. Sneakeater
The Texas Dove place was in the 20s or 30s, not on the UWS.

Sneakeater
To be clear, it was the Texas Dove place that was superhyped on Eater and then done in months. (It got a brutal review from The Times.) Dovetail had a decent run.
Sneakeater
Decent run? Dovetail was open for eleven years!

Mitchell101
I was at an event at L'Abeille Tuesday night when the stars were announced. There was a TV setup inside and the chef seemed to be happy they retained one star and Ichimura received its first star.
Sneakeater
I think L'Abeille is SO terrific.
Wilfrid
I remember Dovetail. I can also sharpen up the Dove reference: The Lonesome Dove and here's Bruni's review. I never visited the New York version but I did go to the original in Austin which I recall being fine.* I also filmed a cooking video with the chef, Tim Love, for a series sponsored by Hellmans mayonnaise. *Actually very good.
