maison rustique
A couple of weeks ago NYT had a recipe for Lemony Turmeric Potato Soup. I thought it sounded interesting. I had a couple of potatoes and some cream that needed to get used immediately, so I played off that recipe and made a version with cream. Very rich, but absolutely delicious. I will definitely make it again, with or without cream.

MitchW
There is actually some medium-rare rib eye cap hiding under the mushroom/shallot/mustard sauce, but it's hard to see. Green beans sautéed in ramp butter. Yukon golds.

Wilfrid
Fun with crispy morcilla on carrot pedestals. Reminder of many years ago, Richard Neat at Pied a Terre in London presenting a huge plate of tiny bits of pig head and feet, each balanced on a different vegetable pedestal with a different touch of sauce. Like a museum. This was less ambitious. 🤣
small h
Sourdough discard pizza. Next time I might try broiling instead of baking, but no complaints! Basil from the balcony. Also lettuce and oregano from the balcony. The balcony is booming!
backyardchef
2 of my favorite discard recipes: pizzas and waffles. The best frozen waffles for quick breakfasts. Recently, I have been par baking my pizzas before topping and not using the broiler. Curious to see how your next ones come out. Having the fresh herbs to snip on from your own garden is one of the true joys of making treasure out of 'trash' with discard.
small h
I parbaked this one, following the King Arthur instructions. My favorite discard recipes are crackers and biscuits. And I'm going to give sourdough pasta a try. My balcony garden is one of the great joys of my existence. It's in early stages now, but I am optimistic about the season. 4
StephanieL
When N was still making sourdough regularly, my favorite use of discard was KAF's triple-chocolate sourdough waffles.
