Dominican salami (Induveca, the best) on zero carb bread with plenty of beurre de Barratte, cucumber and tomato. Simple is good is one point; the other is that there are barely any carbs on that plate.

Business lunch at L'Express. Must be the first time I've been there since pre-COVID. Still miffed that they took the tablier de sapeur off the menu, but the country terrine was good. They were doing great business for a Wednesday lunchtime.

Holiday brunch for the family and a few friends. 10 people in my living room! was a lot. But it went well, and I only have a ton of leftovers, instead of two tons.

Salad: 3 bitter greens in a mustardy vinaigrette, house roasted and marinated bell peppers, Spanish piparras, Spanish olives, tomatoes, avocado, Spanish tuna.

Repurposing the leftover roast chicken into sandwiches.  Yesterday, it was chicken salad; today, it was sliced chicken on sprouted wheat bread with the leftover sweet mustard ham glaze as a sandwich spread.

Ham, cheese and tomato sandwich.

More exciting than it sounds (for me, anyway) because this was on low-carb bread from the local supermarket, and Keto-friendly bread is now good enough that it's indistinguishable from real bread. I mean just regular, sliced bread, not high-end, fancy artisanal bread.

@StephanieL this might interest you

i visited that cafè today (address in the breakfast thread) and bought a jar of poulet basquaise, some boiled potatoes, a jar of tarte tatin and some perrier. all told, this came out to slightly over $30, not including tip.

the chicken was bone-in and pretty good, if a tad oversalted. the tarte tatin was apples and crumbs; perhaps a better choice for dessert might have been the chocolate mousse.

i’m still not sold on the whole concept but at least there is one more lunch option that isn’t a variation of burritos, pokè or chipotle.

Okay, so this is really crazy. We had tomato bean soup for lunch yesterday too with some langostino tails thrown in. And we too had scallops for dinner last night but with wild mushroom risotto. WTF!

Homemade vegetarian borscht from the local Eastern European market, augmented with a dollop of sour cream.  Slice of Boudin sourdough to mop things up.
