ETA: But here I am keeping you up past your bedtime and hampering further breakfast excellence tomorrow, with lovely egg circles. In my defense, on my departure from Boston this morning for NY, I left my wife with a thick shitake-arugula omelet, enlivened with lashings of coarsely ground black pepper and some very good Burlap & Barrel paprika, and thin slices of tomato on the broiled surface. Ingredients ▢ 384 grams all-purpose flour ▢ 67 grams granulated sugar ▢ 1 tsp salt ▢ 2 1/2 tsp baking powder ▢ 1/2 tsp baking soda ▢ 171 grams unsalted butter frozen and grated (see post) ▢ 250 ml buttermilk https://theunlikelybaker.com/classic-buttermilk-scones/ I used kefir in lieu of buttermilk. nice. i have a cup buttermilk leftover from the kid's pancakes. i'm thinking it might work with gf flour since there baking soda and buttermilk and the grated butter they will definitely be crumbly though. if they are next time i will add some egg

Wilfrid
Folk Revival chai almond oatmeal. Low carb, with zero carb Nutpods creamer. Good choice when it's very cold and you are confused by a time change.
voyager
My same-old, same old. Old fashioned rolled oats, covered with water, heavy shower of salt, nuked 2.5 minutes. Blanketed with heavy cream. Super strong coffee with milk. Several NYC puzzles. Bracing start to the day. Which occasionally involves heading back to bed for another hour of cossetted sleep.

I am into my second shipment of Folk Revival "oatmeal" although it's not really oatmeal at all (no grains). It has about half a dozen different seeds, crushed walnuts, coconut, acorn flour, maple flavoring, monkfruit, sea salt. 2g net carbs per serving. It took me a few tries to get the amount of liquid right (I use a mix of nut-based creamer and water) but now I figured it out it's really good. Of course, being Keto-friendly means not being so wallet-friendly; about $7 a serving.
