StephanieL
Reading what happened in the 5th made me grateful for needing to be at chorus rehearsal that night. I'd have broken something had I witnessed it in real time. Edited November 2 by StephanieL
Wilfrid
My luck, I was at the Hinds concert for the blow out win and had to watch game five.

The way they play fundamental baseball (stealing, bunting, defense!) made one realize that the Yankees don’t.
bloviatrix
Once upon a time the Yankees won the series playing small ball. But then the bought in to the idea of the long ball being the answer to everything and they forgot their fundamentals. My kid watched some of the games and was criticizing their defense.
Steve R.
The defensive miscues are a trade off for the offensive players they wanted/got. Jazz's throws from 3rd to 1st were an adventure (I know... he's not a 3rd baseman), Torre's mental gaffes were befuddling and, say what you will about Soto's otherwise greatness, his right field prowess was obviously not. On offense, they got the same streakiness. They were better than the Dodgers when they got hot & looked like a AAA team when they did their "deer in the headlights" impressions. They met a team that looked & played like professionals & got beat, as the announcers said, "around the margins" (almost error free and taking advantage of everything offered). I'd say "wait till next year" but we won't see this team again. Rizzo won't be the only one gone. I expect a new primary catcher, new 2nd baseman (Jazz to 2nd & new 3rd baseman? Cabrera?), new left fielder & maybe the need for a Soto replacement as well. And a big bullpen shakeup. Anyone think that Boone survives? Edited November 3 by Steve R.
