small h
The end of Newhart may be the funniest thing I've ever seen on tv.

Wilfrid
Yes, from his LPs when I was a kid through reruns of the sit-com, a lot of laughs.

Wilfrid
At this distance, of course, I can’t remember which LPs I listened to and maybe these were UK versions. But I remember listening.

bloviatrix
I have fond memories of watching both The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart with my dad. Newhart was a comic master.
mongo
my introduction to bob newhart was via newhart, which came to us in india in reruns when satellite tv arrived in the early 1990s. it was a patchy show (though with very strong moments). it wasn't until i arrived in the u.s a few years later and happened on nick at nite that i understood who bob newhart really was. the dick van dyke show, the bob newhart show, the mary tyler moore show*: nick at nite gave me such an idealized introduction to america. *i always forget that the mary tyler moore show started before the bob newhart show.

No, do a search, it’s revered. https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-features/bob-newhart-appreciation-newhart-finale-1235063494/
splinky
Both "The Bob Newhart Show" and Newhart were MTM productions. Lorenzo Music who was Carlton the Doorman and one of the main writers of "Rhoda" was also one of the creators of the "The Bob Newhart Show". We have so much to be thankful to Mary Tyler Moore and Grant Tinker for.
