relbbaddoof Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 (edited) I'm only doing wine, as befits the "elites" who are now so suddenly the cause of this catastrophe. Edited November 7, 2024 by relbbaddoof I can't spell Quote
Wilfrid Posted November 7, 2024 Author Posted November 7, 2024 I decided to drink Pilsner Urquell last night rather than chug cocktails for six or seven hours. Boy does that bloat you if you are no longer a regular beer drinker. My girth became amusing. Quote

Wilfrid Posted November 8, 2024 Author Posted November 8, 2024 I should have said this was Motel Morris. Walked by a thousand times, first time there. Good drinks, good service not only for me but it was obvious they are running serious, professional service all over the room. Food looked good too. Quote
Wilfrid Posted November 9, 2024 Author Posted November 9, 2024 A few months ago I broke a jug that had been in my family for years. And broke it badly. I have periodically looked into getting it repaired but the estimates were daunting. It finally dawned on me that, as it’s an old but well-known design, I could replace it and transfer my memories to the new jug. Happy with that decision. 2 Quote
bloviatrix Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 The kid's baseball equipment which we had believed to be stolen (bag, 2 mitts, batting gloves, batting helmet, cleats) earlier in the season has been found by a kid on another team. Fortunately, we know some of kids on that team and one of the mom's contacted me. 1 Quote

Wilfrid Posted December 4, 2024 Author Posted December 4, 2024 I was exchanging books at my library tonight (nysoclib.org) and there was a greeting party for new members. I am not a new member. The head librarian caught me trying to leave and ordered me upstairs to tell new members how great the place is. I did talk it up to three of them, which earned me my plastic cup of wine. ❤️ 1 Quote
MitchW Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I'm always proud of Significant Eater, but this was especially nice to receive last week: And now it will be her 4th change of administration. These are the people who actually do the work of keeping the stuff working. 3 4 Quote

small h Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 If you go into a frenzy of tidying up and mistakenly delete your beautiful Restaurant Map and then mistakenly also empty your Google drive trash, you can ask Google to recover it, and they will. Quote
bloviatrix Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Several weeks ago I discovered that the boy enjoys listening to classic rock in the morning. Wednesday morning found him listening to Zeppelin. 1 Quote

maison rustique Posted January 18, 2025 Posted January 18, 2025 It has been a while since I've turned on my Merlin Bird ID app. Yesterday was warm enough that I could be outside for more than 5 seconds, so while I was clearing snow and ice on the deck, I turned it on. Mitchell101 Posted January 21, 2025 Posted January 21, 2025 Well 2024 was one of the worst years for me (as it seemed to be for several of you here on MF as well) with a bunch of family health issues and I'm committed to turning it around in 2025. Off to Burgundy and Paris tomorrow for a week, 12 days in New Orleans for Jazzfest in April, Scotland for a week golfing in July and a wedding in Piedmont to attend in the fall. Fingers crossed....... 2 Quote
