I see that when I venture into the two CVS stores by work. The Walgreen's is only slightly better.

I would have to trudge through the snow to find a pharmacy that has it, then trudge around the store to find someone to unlock the cabinet. Or I could order it same day, free delivery, from my armchair...

voyager
Son is giving me “driving” lessons in my new Mini. One would think that switching from 4 on the floor to automatic would be a no brainer but a hundred button and screen options are a lot more complicated than a clutch, brake and gas. And replacing a key with witchcraft and Simon Says!! Half a century of driving a manual dies hard.

If I knew you were in the market for a new car, I would have suggested getting a Mazda3, as I believe it still comes in both manual and automatic. It all depends on one's criteria. Since it is a town car, and parking in SF is essentially a figment of one's imagination, length was my determinant. Current car (Honda Element) = 170" Mini = 155" Madza3 = 175" to 184" Those 20 someodd inches usually mean finding a spot or cruising the neighborhood for hours.

We street park so I'm very attuned to your concerns. Even when I'm not trying to park, I'm aware of the parking situation, so you can imagine my reaction to seeing a Suburban parked on the street today. The thing was taking up the equivalent of 2.5 spaces!

voyager
Do you drive? I drive between 5 and 10 miles a week. Else, on foot. Edited May 2 by voyager
hollywood
Impressive. I live in LA. Driving is required. I've cut back to around 10,000 miles per year.
relbbaddoof
We are successful enough in life to have a 2004 RAV4 in our driveway. It has a little over 50,000 miles on it, many of which were put on during a 6-month stint in Santa Barbara in 2007 when we had to drive even if we wanted to go to the bathroom. StephanieL
N's car is 9 months older than mine, but she has ~190,000 miles on hers compared with almost 22,000 miles on mine. Long commute for her, very short drive to the train station for me, plus she's the driver on all of our road trips, both short and long. bloviatrix
My car is very much the sports taxi. During hockey season I'm putting at least 100 miles/week on the car just driving back and forth to the rink. I won't even tell you how much I spend on bridge tolls. We drive to lax and depending on the season we have to drive to soccer. And one day a week my husband picks the boy up from school to drive him to baseball practice because it starts at 4:30 and he finishes school at 4:20.
