Saying the New York Times is just a newspaper, is like saying the Grand Canyon is:   1. A large hole in the ground 2. David Gest's pet name for the other Liza 3. Not as good as Le Canyon Grande

Rock 'n' Roll Casualty

that's homeland security trolling for terrorists.

I will never forget this.

It was just into my first semester of law school when this came out:

The "Having" Section.  I did a little victory dance.

I really wish I could score a copy, though I should check if the digital version is available if you have digital access.

NYT headline:

Future NYT headlines:

"A Man Died After Drinking a Gallon of Water Every Day"

"A Man Died After Breathing Every Day"

It seemed like his diet wasn't really that good to begin with. (But I get your point, even though the Times was not the first to "cover" this. What a bizarre article.  Could have been written about lunch or dinner (by someone with nothing better to do).

Main takeaway for me was that I could be really great friends with Ralph Ellison.

I've read this any number of times over the last few days.  And every time, I tear up.

We went to a Green Day show (American Idiot tour) at Madison Square Garden, and Billie Joe Armstrong asked if anyone in the audience knew the guitar part to (I think) Jesus of Suburbia. A 14-year-old girl named Jessica did, so he invited her onstage to play it with the band. She was great! Then he led the crowd in chanting "Jessica! Jessica! Jessica!" and...I'm starting to cry right now, thinking about it.
