i’m not really curious about this except to wonder at how the mighty have fallen. and…i just adore agedashi tofu…but i don’t know anyone who would be into an agedashi hot dog.

EMP’s fast casual place was Made Nice, on E. 28th St. Menu was much broader than food bowls. Closed in 2020.

Cozy Royal in Williamsburg. Ci Siamo has been consistently good. Rule of Thirds in Greenpoint

This made me think. I no longer eat out two or three times a week. Since the occasions are fewer (and I long since stopped blogging) I tend to go back to places I know I like. And because I always post, they get discussed here a lot.

Le Veau d’Or was different.

eater had an advertorial for fall openings early this week. I think there was one place on the list where I was like "I would try that" without even the curve of "oh - I live in the suburbs" it was shocking.

Also I think its entertaining reading the Reddit FoodNYC and seeing a few people get to the emperor's new clothes stage with some of the favorites there.

I see openings I would like to try, but I am not going to battle for a reservation or eat at 4.30 or 11. The miracle one-top at Le Veau d’Or was totally unforeseen
